well my friends the time has come. kevin and i are leaving bright and early in the morning at 7am for our mission trip to haiti! we will be out of contact for the most part until saturday the 18th. we would love your prayers, positive thoughts, whatever ya got! i can’t wait to come home and share with everyone.

i’m sure i have elaborated on the name ‘bloom’ once or twice before. in the haze of having a brand new baby i decided to leave my job in advertising and spent all of my days with my oldest (and only at the time) baby girl, lily. by the time she turned one i was working for myself and to honor our time together and how she inspires me, i named my business ‘bloom’ after my sweet flower who had blossomed so much in the past year.
when my bride last week had a bouquet of lillies i knew my lily would be tickled to see the pictures and she sure was. she asked me again today to see ‘the pretty bride’s lily bunch’ and so i am posting another shot of her flowers on the blog today for my lily. i love you darling!

january might not be everyone’s favorite month but i’m here to say it can still be a gorgeous month for portraits 
these sweet sisters have a fabulous photog mama who generously donated to our haiti mission and i was so happy to take these portraits in return. her vision was light, bright, bubbly sister time. i think we got just that!!
these twins are a very lucky pair. they have an adoring big sister and two doting parents and the cutest nursery in town!
oh this wedding!!! what can i say? genuine people make weddings 100x more amazing. the love between these two is felt by everyone in the room. i teared up twice- once when the sweet groom carried an unsure flowergirl down the aisle rather than let her be left out of the big day and when the bride and her dad had an emotional moment during their dance together. whew. what a day!! congratulations to these two people who are beautiful inside and out!

i was going to post just one, but i had to go with two. this adorable couple was married today at vista west ranch and it was a beautiful day in every way. more coming later this week. my heartfelt congratulations.
i have a scheduling update for you! after a fabulous and busy 2011, there are a few changes in store for 2012. don’t worry, prices aren’t changing. not one bit!
i deliberated this a bit and have decided that i will no longer have session openings available on sundays. i will still offer 2-3 portrait sessions on non-wedding weeks, but these will take place during the week or on saturday only. of course, this means that there will likely be only about 2 available saturday portrait sessions each month. if you require a weekend date, speak up early to get your spot reserved.
sundays will still be used occasionally for rain dates or reschedules, but as a rule they will be reserved for family time. thank you for respecting this change- i hope you are able to enjoy your sundays at home as well!

i hit the town with some of my favorite photographer friends this weekend and we had a blast. one thing i love about austin is the wonderful camaraderie among photographers! it was cracking me up to watch 4 people shooting one subject so close up, so i jokingly laid down in the middle of the street claiming i had the best view. clearly i did not, but at least lisa (pictured here) thought i was funny!

i have said it before and i’ll say it again, i love newborns. i love their little sounds, their sighs, their teeny hands. i love seeing parents doting lovingly on their new addition.
well all newborns are a miracle, but this one is more than that. trust me. congratulations, she is perfection.
