my sweet sweet eve. at 16 months old she continues to be the cuddle bug of my dreams and has developed an endearing stubborn side. i’m so so lucky to have these amazing girls in my care every day and i am really enjoying a bit of time at home to just focus on my family. what a gift!

‘punky’ was a term my sister and i used forever ago to say something was cute and sweet. punky is what kevin described lily’s outfit as before we left the house on our way to take these… punky brewster, that is!

i asked lily what SHE wanted to wear for her photos and she immediately chose her purple skirt. its her new favorite thing, given to her by her gaga and her e. now, mind you she JUST wanted to wear the skirt, so i had to lobby for a shirt and threw some homemade flower pins on for a little fun. the sparkly shoes were a $5 splurge that lily just happens to love.

i just let her run wild. i kinda love it.

farewell | family portraits, austin texas

as we wrapped up our session this morning (very sweaty and out of breath) this client joked ‘i can’t wait to see you somehow spin this into how much FUN you had when you post on your blog!’ so instead of being cheesy and positive, i’ll tell you how much it means to me to photograph these six.

i met this wondermom three years ago when lily was only about 6 weeks old and her third baby (of now FOUR) was just a few days younger than lily. it was a really rough time for me being a new mom, finding my way in a very foreign situation and she stepped in and helped make that first year full of thoughtful conversation and laughs. for that i will always be grateful!

this sweet family is moving from austin in just a few days, so i am honored to bookend their time here with some memorable portraits. here’s hoping you all find your way back to austin and back into our lives soon!

summer | austin texas wedding photographer

i’m planning to bring new definition to the ‘lazy days of summer’. august is time for me to recharge, soak up lots of time with family, and just be LAZY!

of course i have an awful lot planned during this ‘lazy’ time, but one thing is for sure, i will be enjoying every moment that i can i have my last family session this week and a bridal next, but that is the last of client sessions until september. i have a sneaking suspicion the rest of this year is going to fly by. the part of me that doesn’t revel in getting bigger by the day likes that idea, but the part of me that enjoys the amount of sleep i currently get is frightened!

so much to come before my maternity leave officially begins in mid-november. four weddings, lots of portraits, fun announcements for next year, and i swear i’ll post a picture or two of my expanding mid-section soon!
